The human resources department is responsible for staff recruitment, skills development, labour relations and benefits administration.

The maintenance department is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of all maintenance activities at the refinery.

The commercial department manages the assessment of the refinery performance, business improvement program, hydrocarbon accounting as well as SBM operation.

The finance team provides all treasury, accounting and legal functions for the refinery. It is also responsible for procurement of products and services.

The engineering department is responsible for integrity assurance in support of safe and reliable maintenance and operation.

The production department is responsible for refining and processing of crude oil into end products for our shareholders.

The HSSE department ensures that SAPREF adheres to and improves its health, safety, security and environmental performance

The ICT department is responsible of  driving the SAPREF IT strategy for the business. 

The process technology team is accountable for process safety, plant operation optimisation, process control, process modification as well as quality assurance of our products.

The Sustainable Development department is responsible for stakeholder engagement, BBBEE compliance, communications as well as corporate social investment.
