2 February 2007

WHILST work was being conducted on SAPREF’s Pipeline Replacement Project in the vicinity of Alabama and Tara Roads, an excavator accidently damaged a one inch nipple on a diesel pipeline on Friday (2 February 2007) at about 9am.

SAPREF’s emergency service responded immediately and the necessary steps were taken to stop the leak. It is estimated that about 100 litres of diesel leaked from the pipe.

We will remove the wet soil and replace it with fresh soil.
