SAPREF is proud to have passed its first re-certification audit of
its ISO environmental management system, taking the company into its
second three year certification period. The audit was conducted in
November by the Det Norske Veritas (DNV) certification body, which is
accredited by Dutch and UK accreditation authorities. DNV identified no
"major findings" that would indicate SAPREF did not meet the ISO
requirements. It is very significant that SAPREF has undergone four
external audits by International auditors from Norway, UK and the
Netherlands and these have never found any system non-conformities. In
the re-certification audit one "minor finding" was found, which related
to an Air Pollution Prevention Act certificate for our refinery
processes which had not yet been received from the authorities. Formal
certification was received in February 2004.
